Job summary

ASEC is seeking a System Administrator to support mission-critical Navy training systems at NAS Fallon, NV. The role is 100% on-site, requiring US citizenship and an active DoD Top Secret clearance.

You will provide day-to-day technical support to White Cell instructors, configure and verify training environments, manage accounts, patch systems, and ensure data integrity and recovery. The position emphasizes on-site operations, coordination with instructors, and adherence to security procedures,

Qualifications

• 5+ years of system administration experience.
• Experience with routers/firewalls and AD.
• CompTIA Security+ certification required.
• BS degree in IT/Cybersecurity/CS preferred.
• U.S. citizenship and active DoD Top Secret clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site support to White Cell instructors at NAS Fallon, NV.
• Prepare and reset exercise environments per procedures.
• Manage user accounts and permissions per security procedures.
• Verify baseline images and OS configurations; restore images as needed.
• Troubleshoot issues and coordinate with instructors to minimize disruption.
• Administer workstations, servers and virtual systems; monitor health and logs.
• Perform patching, maintenance and change control activities.
• Execute backups and recovery procedures; preserve configurations and data.
• Document incidents, actions, and changes; hand off status at shifts.

What You’ll Do:

Support mission-critical Navy training systems at NAS Fallon, NV!

As a System Administrator you will provide on-site support to the White Cell training team at NAS Fallon, NV. This position will be based 100% on-site at NAS Fallon, NV.

• Provide responsive, day-to-day technical support to White Cell instructors before, during, and after training evolutions.
• Prepare and reset exercise environments using approved procedures; restore scenario configurations and verify readiness for the next training event.
• Provision, modify, disable, and reset user accounts and permissions in accordance with approved access requests and security procedures.
• Verify baseline images, operating system configurations, application versions, and required services; restore approved images when authorized.
• Troubleshoot live exercise injection failures, application errors, account issues, and system or connectivity problems. Coordinate recovery with instructors to minimize disruption.
• Administer assigned workstations, servers, and virtual systems; monitor system health, review logs, and identify performance or availability issues.
• Perform approved patching, software updates, routine maintenance, and environment cleanup within established change control and training schedules.
• Execute and verify assigned backup and recovery procedures; preserve approved configurations and exercise data in accordance with applicable handling requirements.
• Document incidents, corrective actions, configuration changes, and recurring problems. Maintain procedures and provide clear shift handoffs covering system status and unresolved issues.
• Escalate incidents that exceed assigned authority or expertise and coordinate with the appropriate technical team through resolution.

Requirements

What You’ll Bring:

Required Qualifications:

• 5 years of related system administration experience, required.
• In depth experience working with routers and firewalls and a working knowledge of Active Directory.
• Experience maintaining and operating the naval flight simulator, is a plus.
• Some coursework in electronics is a plus.
• CompTIA Security + is required. BS degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related area of study, desired.
