Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is seeking Part-Time Aides to assist with supervising students during non-instructional activities before, during, and after the school day. The role supports supervision up to 3.75 hours per day.

Duties include monitoring during meals, study halls, suspensions, entry/exit, and around the school building. Applicants should have a high school degree or GED and prefer experience supervising children in organized settings.

Qualifications

• High school degree or GED required.
• One year of experience in supervising children in an organized setting preferred.
• Ability to work with and for school children.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to learn and follow school and district policies, procedures, and expectations.

Part‑Time Aides

Position can be used to assist with the supervision of students during non‑instructional activities before, during, and/or after the school day. Part‑Time Aides can work for the school, but for no longer than 3.75 hours each day.

Duties of Part‑Time Aides

• During lunch and/or recess periods
• During study halls (only during non‑instructional minutes)
• During in‑school suspensions
• During student entry/exit
• In and around the school building

Part‑Time Aides cannot take on the duties of other clearly defined school‑based positions, including but not limited to teacher’s assistants, instructional assistants, special education classroom assistants, children’s welfare attendants, security guards or aides, clerks, etc.

Qualifications
