Job summary

Stonefield Engineering & Design is seeking enthusiastic SWPPP Inspectors for our Site/Civil team in New York, NY. You will perform routine and rain event inspections on active construction sites to verify erosion controls are installed and functioning.

You will document findings, coordinate with contractors, and help update SWPPP documents while staying current with NY/NJ stormwater regulations. A valid CISEC/CPESC certification and OSHA 10 are required or obtainable within six months.

Qualifications

• Valid CISEC or CPESC certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Familiarity with NJ SWPPP requirements under NJPDES CGP and NY SPDES GP.
• Ability to perform field inspections in varying weather conditions on active construction sites.
• Strong written communication for inspection reports.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine and rain event inspections of active construction sites per SWPPP requirements.
• Evaluate erosion and sediment controls (ESCs) such as silt fences and sediment basins.
• Document findings with detailed reports, photos, and corrective actions.
• Communicate deficiencies to contractors and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Maintain inspection logs compliant with NJPDES/SPDES permits.
• Coordinate with project engineers and clients to address issues.
• Assist SWPPP updates and amendments as needed.
• Stay current with NJDEP and NYSDEC stormwater regulations.
