Job summary

Viewrail in Goshen, IN, is seeking a qualified candidate to program and operate Swiss lathe machines in the Machining Department. The Delta shift runs 4am–4pm, Thursday and Friday, with a third day available (Mon/Tue/Wed) for a 12-hour shift.

Responsibilities include loading, setup, quality checks, and maintenance of spindle uptime. The role requires reading precision tools, interpreting blueprints, and G-code CNC programming (preferred).

Qualifications

• Ability to read precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and tape measures.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Lathe CNC programming with G Code preferred.

Responsibilities

• Program, run, and troubleshoot Swiss lathe machines.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area; manage spill and scrap control daily.
• Load machines and operate forklift to load/unload bar racks.
• Open creates and chamfer bars for bar feeders; perform startup checks on machines.

Job description

We are looking for a qualified candidate to both program and operate Swiss Lathe(s) as part of our Machining Department. This team works 3 days per week, 12 hour shifts (4am - 4pm). This individual will be part of our Delta shift. The Delta team works 4am - 4pm on Thursday and Friday, but has the choice of the third work day (again a 12 hour shift working 4am - 4pm) being Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday of that week.

Position Requirements & Responsibilities: (These requirements are in addition to any and all Viewrail employment requirements and policies.)

Responsibilities:

• Maintain a clean working environment within your work area.
  • Includes (sweeping the floors, wiping down machinery **daily**, organized work benches, no oil spills on the floor, no machined chips on the floor, clear walkways, parts and part bins are located neatly on their required shelves or work stations, trash is taken care of daily).
• Program, run, and troubleshoot machines
• Handle scrap/chips or shavings.
  • Includes (removing and replacing scrap bins as needed, driving a forklift to dump scrap into the proper material hoppers).
• Wash and count parts.
  • Includes (moving parts from catch bin to wash station, using a digital scale to weigh and count parts, store and record parts in the proper location and spreadsheets).
• Start up Machines.
  • Includes (Changing drills and inserts as needed, Checking coolant levels, making sure filters are clean, running a Q.C checks on first part and last part of a cycle, controlling offsets, and maintaining spindle up time)
• Loading machines
• Operating forklift to load and unload bar racks
• Opening creates and chamfering bars to be loaded into bar feeders.
• Other job-related duties as assigned
