Qualifications

• 3+ years Swiss-style lathe CNC machining experience.
• Multi-axis machining experience (milling and/or turning).
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to read blueprints and understand tolerances.
• Experience in precision manufacturing.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate conventional Swiss Lathe.
• Blueprint interpretation: study drawings to determine dimensions, tolerances, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
• Tooling & fixturing: select, align, and secure fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials on machines.
• Machine programming: calculate and set machining parameters and input or edit CNC programs as needed.
• Process monitoring: monitor operations and make adjustments for out-of-tolerance conditions.
• Inspection & quality assurance: verify conformance of finished workpieces to specs using measuring tools.
• Setup validation: perform trial runs to confirm accuracy of machine settings and program outputs.
• Cross-functional collaboration: partner with engineering, production, and programming teams.

Are you a skilled Swiss Lathe Machinist who takes pride in producing high-precision parts? We're looking for a motivated Swiss Lathe Machinist to join our growing manufacturing team. This position is responsible for the setup, operation, inspection, and on a Swiss Lathe machine while ensuring safety, quality, and production goals are met.

Key Responsibilities

• Machine Setup & Operation: Set up and operate conventional Swiss Lathe.
• Blueprint Interpretation & Planning: Study blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
• Tooling & Fixturing: Select, align, and secure fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials on machines.
• Machine Programming & Controls: Calculate and set machining parameters (speed, feed, coolant flow, depth of cut) and input or edit CNC programs as needed.
• Process Monitoring & Adjustment: Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions and make necessary adjustments.
• Inspection & Quality Assurance: Verify conformance of finished workpieces to specifications using appropriate measuring tools.
• Setup Validation: Perform trial runs to confirm accuracy of machine settings and program outputs.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering, production, and programming teams to resolve machining or assembly challenges.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring

Knowledge & Experience

• 3+ years Swiss-style Lathe CNC machining experience
• Multi-axis machining experience (milling and/or turning)
• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience in machining, CNC operation, or precision manufacturing
• Ability to read blueprints and understand tolerances
• Basic math and measurement skills
• Strong attention to detail and quality

Preferred

• Experience in precision manufacturing
• Knowledge of GD&T
• Experience with Fanuc, Okuma or similar controls
• Lean manufacturing experience

Machine / Process Exposure

• CNC Turning / Lathe (including live tooling)
