• Ability to setup, operate and inspect machined parts.

Responsibilities

• Set up and run Tsugami and Citizens Swiss CNC Machines.
• Independently perform inspection.
• Follow process specifications and travelers; read blueprints.
• Load machines per router instructions and manage multiple centers.
• Observe machine operation to detect defects or malfunctions.
• Conduct in-process inspections and measure dimensions.
• Edit programs to compensate for wear and maintain tolerance.
• Remove burrs and ensure a clean work area; maintain tools.

Acutec Precision Aerospace is seeking Swiss CNC Machinists to join their team in St. Stephen, SC.

As a Skilled Swiss CNC Machinist on the Acutec team, you can expect:

• Excellent Compensation: Start earning from $18.53 – $32/hr, depending on experience. Plus, with optional overtime, you can expect to earn even more.
  • Overtime for dayshift is available on Fridays
  • Overtime for night shift is available through the longer shifts and on Sundays as well.
• Great Schedule with Work/Life Balance: Enjoy a 4-day Monday – Thursday work week! Day shift and Night shift positions available.
  • Day Shift: Monday-Thursday 6:00AM – 4:30PM/7:00AM – 5:30PM
  • Night Shift – Monday – Thursday 4:30PM – 3:00AM

Job Summary:

• Set up and run Tsugami and Citizens Swiss CNC Machines
• Independently perform inspection
• Cares for parts in accordance with procedures (Corrosion Protection/Handling/ FOD)Cares for parts in accordance with procedures (Corrosion Protection/Handling/ FOD)
• Work to standard and contributes to continuous improvement; communicates issues to team leader in a timely manner; effectively leaves notes for next shift
• Work from and follow process specifications, travelers, blueprints, rework/rejection tags, work instruction, relevant process controls, and verbal/written instruction.
• Required to concurrently run multiple machine centers. Load machine as required in accordance with router instructions.
• Actively observe machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction.
• Conduct in process inspections and measure workpiece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation.
• Ensure quality standards / inspection plan are completed / meet for the completed machine operation.
• Edit program as required to compensate for tool wear and machine operation in order to continually produce parts within tolerance.
• Remove flashing, burrs, and sharp edges from work piece and perform other additional operations at CNC work center that will reduce shop flow.
• Required to maintain cutting tool inserts and replace/repair tools as necessary to assure machine operation.
• Machine and work area must be kept clean.
• Requires the use of and ownership of basic tools and various hand tools as specified by departmental tool list.
• Scrutinize every facet of job and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials, and unusual conditions to Team Leader
• Perform housekeeping chores as department requirements dictate.
• Other duties as assigned by Team Leader.
