SCHEDULE: Must be able to work the entire schedule of 2PM - 10PM, Monday through Friday, and overtime when required.

- Read and verify job tickets and production schedules, confirming job specifications including sheet size, caliper, job number, customer, and load requirements.
- Set up, operate, and adjust press feeder equipment according to job requirements and production schedules.
- Prepare loads, aerate, and properly align printing substrates to ensure smooth and continuous material feeding.
- Maintain a continuous supply of materials to the press and ensure required loads are run according to the production schedule.
- Load, stage, and maintain production materials.
- Operate sheeting equipment, including setup, make-ready, Dadex application, and quick-change functions.
- Unload, stack, label, and tag finished sheets and loads according to production requirements.
- Assist press operators with press setup, make-ready, wash-up, plate mounting, ink adjustments, and quality checks as directed.
- Remain at the press during make-readies, wash-ups, and press checks as required and perform assigned tasks under the direction of the Pressman.
- Monitor equipment performance and make appropriate adjustments to maintain production efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Follow proper procedures for material handling, equipment operation, chemical handling, lifting, and hazard communication, and maintain awareness of surrounding equipment, employees, and potential workplace hazards.
- Inspect printed and sheeted loads to ensure products meet established quality standards and verify proper specifications, labeling, and tagging.
- Monitor print quality for defects, including plate defects, registration issues, blanket smashes, hickies, color variation, and other print-related defects.
- Monitor ink and coating quality, including viscosity, temperature, pattern, and glue-area requirements.
- Perform required make-ready and production quality checks.
- Immediately communicate quality concerns to the appropriate Pressman, supervisor, or manager when established standards cannot be met.
- Maintain accurate production records and complete required production logs, quality documentation, work orders, and other records, including production output, material usage, downtime, and other required information.
- Communicate effectively with Pressmen, operators, supervisors, managers, and other departments regarding production requirements, quality concerns, equipment issues, shift transitions, and other issues encountered during the shift.
- Clean and maintain presses, feeders, sheeters, floors, catwalks, and surrounding work areas, including removing paper dust and properly managing chemicals and cleaning rags.
- Check and maintain appropriate feeder alarms.
- Perform required press wash-ups and make-readies and properly store inks and other materials after each job.
- Perform basic preventive maintenance and identify and report equipment conditions requiring additional maintenance or repair.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment in accordance with company housekeeping and 5S standards.
- Develop and maintain the skills necessary to safely and effectively operate the press feeder and sheeting equipment.
- Assist with training new employees on equipment setup, operation, safety, quality, and department procedures as assigned.
- Maintain flexibility by developing skills across multiple positions within the Printing and Sheeting departments.
- Provide support to other positions within the Printing and Sheeting departments as needed to maintain production flow.
- Proactively seek direction and additional work during downtime to maintain productivity and continue developing job-related skills.
- Regular and predictable attendance is required between the assigned start time and end times of work; must be able to work overtime when required.
- Must adhere to and perform all work in accordance with company policies, procedures, practices, values, and standards of conduct.
- Follow safety procedures and practices to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing to communicate effectively and recognize warning and emergency alarms, including forklift horns.
- Sufficient vision to read job tickets, production documents, reports, and other job-related information and to observe equipment, products, and plant signage.
- Sufficient manual dexterity to perform repetitive hand, wrist, and arm movements.
- Frequently push and pull materials weighing up to 100 pounds.
- Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds from floor to shoulder height on a regular basis and occasionally handle heavier materials up to 75 pounds.
- Stand for extended periods throughout the work shift.
- Walk for extended periods during the work shift.
- Repeatedly bend, stoop, kneel, and twist at the head, neck, and waist.
- Frequently climb stairs.
- Maintain sufficient attention and concentration to safely and effectively complete assigned tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE OF:
- Basic principles and practices of press feeding, sheeting, and printing operations.
- Press feeder and sheeting equipment operation, setup, make-ready, adjustment, and basic troubleshooting.
- Basic printing quality standards and common print defects, including registration issues, color variation, hickies, plate defects, and blanket-related defects.
- Proper material staging, loading, unloading, stacking, labeling, and tagging procedures.
- Basic preventive maintenance, equipment cleaning, and housekeeping practices for production equipment and work areas.
- Safe work practices applicable to printing and sheeting operations, including machine safety, chemical handling, lifting, hazard communication, and maintaining awareness of surrounding equipment and personnel.
- Production recordkeeping requirements, including production output, material usage, downtime, quality documentation, and work orders.
- Company production procedures, quality standards, safety requirements, housekeeping expectations, and 5S practices .
SKILL AND ABILITY TO:
- Read and interpret safety rules, operating procedures, job tickets, schedules, work orders, and other written instructions.
- Perform basic mathematical calculations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Identify and resolve routine production and equipment issues and recognize when additional assistance is required.
- Interpret written, oral, diagram, and schedule-based instructions.
- Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, aerators, and other authorized production equipment.
- Monitor equipment and product quality and recognize conditions requiring adjustment or corrective action.
- Communicate information and feedback clearly to team members and supervisors.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous manufacturing or printing experience preferred
- Forklift operation experience strongly preferred.

SUMMARY
The primary purpose of the Press Feeder/Sheeting Operator is to support the safe, efficient, and high-quality operation of printing presses, press feeders, and sheeting equipment. This position performs equipment setup and operation, material handling, quality inspections, production documentation, equipment cleaning and basic maintenance, and other activities necessary to maintain efficient production flow within the Printing and Sheeting departments.
The Press Feeder/Sheeting Operator is expected to work effectively across multiple areas of the departments, maintain production and quality standards, follow established safety procedures, and support the training and development of team members as assigned.
