Job summary

Bethanyswine is seeking a Swine Technician to oversee daily care, health, and welfare of pigs in our production facility. The role involves husbandry, feeding, health management, and equipment maintenance to sustain high production standards.

Responsibilities include monitoring health, administering vaccines, assisting with farrowing and breeding activities, and maintaining clean facilities. No experience is required, but familiarity with animal care is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience caring for animals is preferred but not required.
• Ability to follow established protocols and procedures.
• Willingness to work in a farm environment with exposure to noises and odors.

Responsibilities

• Learn and monitor the health and well-being of swine, ensuring they receive proper nutrition and care.
• Follow production protocols to maximize sow and gilt production and efficiencies.
• Administer vaccinations and health treatments as directed.
• Ensure pigs have access to feed, air and water; monitor intake and adjust feeding.
• Identify signs of illness and report per protocols.
• Assist with farrowing, newborn piglet care, and pregnancy checks.
• Maintain clean, sanitary barns and equipment; keep accurate records of health and treatments.
• Communicate with farm management and team; follow welfare and biosecurity policies.
