Job summary

Pipestone is seeking a hands-on livestock technician to support sow and gilt production in a rural pig farm environment. You will follow farm management directions, adhere to production protocols, and complete daily paperwork to help maximize production and efficiency.

Responsibilities include adherence to bio-security, safety guidelines, recording production data, and collaborating with the lead in area. Prior livestock experience is preferred but not required; training is provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years livestock experience preferred.
• Willing to complete Pipestone training courses.

Responsibilities

• Follow farm management directions and production protocols to maximize sow and gilt production and efficiency.
• Complete daily task sheets and production paperwork accurately and on time.
• Maintain bio-security, safety guidelines, and sanitation in the work area.
• Communicate effectively with area employees and farm management.
• Monitor animal welfare and report health concerns to lead person.
