Job summary

Carthage System seeks a Safety Compliance & Training Specialist to develop, implement, and maintain safety programs across swine production operations. You will lead training, audits, and collaborations with farm managers to reduce risk and improve safety across multiple locations.

The role requires knowledge of OSHA standards, 2–5 years in safety compliance, and experience creating training programs. Travel between farms may be required, with emphasis on incident investigation and PPE oversight.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in safety-related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in safety compliance, preferably in agriculture or livestock production.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and agricultural safety regulations.
• Experience developing and delivering training programs.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently across multiple farm locations.
• Proficiency in recordkeeping and safety management systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and update safety policies for swine production environments.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and agricultural safety standards.
• Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections across farms.
• Investigate incidents and prepare corrective action reports.
• Design and deliver safety training for new hires and staff.
• Maintain training records and compliance documentation.
• Collaborate with farm managers to identify hazards and implement controls.
• Monitor use of PPE and enforce safety practices.
• Stay current with industry regulations and safety trends.
• Lead emergency preparedness planning and drills.
• Liaise with first responders to support emergencies.
