ANNOUNCEMENT OF COACHING VACANCY

Swimming - Head Coach

2026-2027 School Year

QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous swimming coaching experience is desirable.
• Experience in high school, college, or both is desirable.
• Knowledge of basketball and its rules, and ability to instruct players.
• Evidence of ability to get along with pupils, parents, colleagues and other citizens.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college preferred.

DUTIES

• Coach individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sport involved.
• Maintain accurate records of squad lists, injury reports, scores of games (report to athletic office and newspapers as requested), incident reports, and physical examinations.
• Be available during the entire school year to lend assistance in guidance and counseling to squad members, including scholastic achievement, college entrance, citizenship.
• Recommend purchase of equipment, supplies and uniforms as appropriate.
• Determine athletes’ academic eligibility.
• Oversee the safety conditions of the facility where the sport is played at all times when students are present.
• Make regular checks of the safety of all equipment.
• Enforce discipline and encourage sportsmanship behavior at all times.
• Enforce the rules set forth by the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association.
• Assist in the distribution and collection of all uniforms and equipment; coaches are responsible for equipment not returned by team members at the designated time.
• Organize and post a daily schedule for the team and assistant coaches.
• Perform all other duties as the principal may deem necessary for the best interest of the sport, pupil, and school.

Stipend: $6,038
