Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Boston is seeking a Swim Aide at North Suburban YMCA to assist certified Aquatic Instructors during lessons and help create a safe, welcoming aquatic environment. This entry-level, non-exempt position requires candidate to be ages 15 to 15 years 11 months, with no experience required and YASA certification; training will be provided, and shifts include mornings, evenings, and weekends.

• Must be 15 years old (up to 15 years 11 months).
• No experience required.
• YASA certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist aquatics instructors during swim classes.
• Prepare class equipment and put away after classes.
• Maintain a professional image aligned with YMCA mission.
• Ensure a clean and safe pool environment at all times.
• Engage with members to understand goals and assist in achieving them.
• Attend monthly in-service training and biannual association trainings.
• May work one-on-one with individual students during group classes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
