Job summary

The Children’s Village is seeking an Aquatics Instructor to deliver high-quality swim instruction and promote water safety at the Lanza Activities Center in Dobbs Ferry, NY. This full-time role supports youth aquatic training and certification, ensuring safe and engaging programming aligned with youth development goals.

The ideal candidate will hold a high school diploma or GED, with WSI, Lifeguard, CPR and First Aid certifications, and a NY driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; further education preferred in Recreation or Physical Education.
• American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification, CPR, and First Aid required.
• Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification required or to be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Experience teaching swim lessons or working in an aquatic environment.
• Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification preferred.
• Valid NYS Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality swim instruction and promote water safety.
• Support daily pool operations at the Lanza Activities Center.
• Assist with youth aquatic training and certification courses.
• Collaborate across departments to support agency-wide recreation and family initiatives.
