Job summary

A local swim education center in Tacoma seeks Swim Instructors and Lifeguards to teach children water safety and swimming techniques. Candidates must have a passion for working with kids, possess excellent communication skills, and demonstrate a strong work ethic. • Must pass background examinations prior to training.

Responsibilities

• Teach swimmers water safety and technique in accordance to proprietary curriculum.
• Provide positive reinforcement to swimmers.
• Maintain constant surveillance of patrons in the facility for their safety.
• Communicate the rules of the facility to patrons fairly.
• Provide emergency care and treatment as required until medical services arrive.
• Complete accident/incident reports as necessary.
• Maintain a clean and safe facility.

Primary Swim Instructor Responsibilities

• Teach swimmers water safety and technique in accordance to our proprietary curriculum
• Provide positive reinforcement to swimmers
• Communicate to parents on swimmers progress

Primary Lifeguard Responsibilities

• Maintains constant surveillance of patrons in the facility; immediately inappropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of an accident or emergency.
• Communicate the rules of the facility to patrons fairly inconsistently.
• Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
• Ensure that medical services EMS or other are contacted by most appropriate means by which necessary to respond to an emergency. Ensure that medical services (EMS or other) are contacted by most appropriate means by which necessary to respond to an emergency.
• Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times and maintains a high standard of customer service.
• Complete accident/incident reports as necessary.
• Maintains a clean and safe facility as directed/assigned.
