Job summary

Goldfish Swim School – Lexington is hiring a Swim Instructor to lead children through our progressive curriculum in a safe, fun, and engaging environment at our Lexington, KY location. You will be a key ambassador helping families enjoy a positive learning experience.

Training provided; no prior experience required. The role offers flexible hours, includes weekend shifts, and opportunities for advancement within our team-oriented culture.

Qualifications

• Must have current Lifeguard, CPR/AED, and First Aid certifications.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach and inspire students using the Goldfish curriculum.
• Enforce pool rules and maintain a safe learning environment.
• Provide regular progress updates to parents and celebrate small wins.
• Help students overcome fears and achieve milestones.
• Keep pool area clean, organized, and ready for class.

The Role

As a Swim Instructor, you are the face of the Goldfish curriculum. You’ll help children become confident in the water while ensuring a safe, fun, and "Golden" experience for every family.

Core Responsibilities:

Teach & Inspire: Provide high-quality swim instruction based on our proven curriculum.

Safety First: Enforce pool rules, prevent accidents, and maintain a safe environment.

Communicate: Act as a brand ambassador, giving parents regular updates on their child’s progress and "small wins."

Problem Solve: Use creativity to help students overcome fears and reach their milestones.

Maintain Excellence: Ensure the pool area and equipment are clean, organized, and ready for class.

What We’re Looking For

We need energetic individuals who love working with kids and want to make a difference.

Experience: Non required. If you love working with kids, we will train you!

Background: Previous experience as a lifeguard, youth coach, camp counselor, or childcare provider.

Certifications: Current Lifeguard, CPR/AED, and First Aid certifications are required. (Shallow water attendant cert is a plus!)

Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to pass a background check.

Swim Skills: Ability to swim 80' free style

Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.

Work Environment

You’ll be working in a tropical, 90-degree pool environment! Expect heat, humidity, and a moderate noise level filled with the sounds of kids learning and cheering.
