Job summary

Goldfish Swim School in Wexford, PA is hiring year-round daytime, weeknight and weekend instructors with leadership opportunities within 3–6 months. We offer paid training, a set weekly schedule, and advancement opportunities while teaching children water safety and swim techniques.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide swim instruction based on Goldfish Swim School curriculum.
• Educate students on safety rules and regulations.
• Evaluate students’ progress and complete required paperwork.
• Interact with parents/guardians on students’ progress and development.
• Use problem-solving and creative thinking to address challenges.
• Maintain and store pool equipment; set up/clear lane lines and class materials.
• Perform light cleaning duties as needed.
• Attend workshops and in-service training outside regular hours.
• Fulfill other duties or responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to work with children
• Strong communication and organizational skills - A Golden personality
• Ability to complete lifeguard, CPR & AED certification class as part of training and work scheduled shifts as a lifeguard
• Ability to perform job functions in a warm, humid setting and chlorinated pool (lifting, standing for extended periods of time, demonstrating curriculum skills and performing in-water rescues if necessary). Noise level is usually moderate

Summary

You will instruct students on water safety and proper swim techniques based on thorough knowledge of the Goldfish Swim School curriculum. After each 30 minute lesson, you communicate progress (and celebrate the accomplishments!) with parents and caregivers.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Provide swim instruction based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum
2. Educate students on safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents
3. Evaluate students’ progress, and complete required paperwork in a timely manner
4. Interact with parents/guardians on the activities and development of students’ swim skills
5. Use problem-solving and creative thinking skills to identify and resolve challenges that students encounter
6. Maintain and ensure proper storage of all pool equipment. Place and remove lane lines and class materials before/after lessons
7. Perform light cleaning duties such as window washing, deck mopping, trash removal etc. on occasion
8. Attend occasional mandatory workshops and in-service training outside of regular working hours
9. Fulfill other duties or responsibilities as assigned by your employer
