The YMCA North in Saint Paul is seeking a part-time Swim Instructor (age 16+). You will teach swim skills and water safety to kids and adults at the Y, with a flexible schedule and a free membership as part of the package.
Role focuses on safe, engaging instruction following YMCA guidelines; you’ll supervise learners, communicate pool policies, evaluate progress, and help place students in appropriate levels for continued growth.

The salary of this position is $16.50 hourly. We take into consideration an individual’s background and experience in determining salary; therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package for full-time includes a wide range of benefits (medical, dental, life, disability, and more) as well as generous paid time off and free membership. Part-time benefits will vary.
The Swim Instructor is responsible for providing swimming instruction to people of all ages, following the YMCA of the USA Aquatics and Swim Lessons guidelines. Swim Instructors will provide excellent customer service in a safe, enjoyable, and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and satisfaction in accordance with the YMCA policies and procedures.
This position reports to the Aquatic Supervisor/Aquatics Director who reports to the Branch Community Leadership. The incumbent interacts regularly with their supervisor, staff, volunteers, and participants.
