Job summary

Goldfish Swim School Fox Chapel is hiring year-round part-time swim instructors with leadership opportunities in 3–6 months. You will teach water safety and swim techniques using our curriculum, and report progress to parents after each 30-minute lesson.

The role includes paid training, a set weekly schedule, and a supportive team. We value reliability, strong communication, and the ability to work with children in a warm, chlorinated pool.

Qualifications

• Ability to work with children.

• Ability to complete lifeguard, CPR & AED certification class as part of training.
• Ability to perform job functions in a warm, humid pool setting and assist in-water rescues.

Responsibilities

• Provide swim instruction based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum.
• Educate students on safety rules to prevent accidents.
• Evaluate students’ progress and complete required paperwork.
• Interact with parents/guardians on activities and student development.
• Maintain pool equipment and set up class materials before/after lessons.

Our swimmers are diving into great lessons and our employees are diving into great opportunities! We’re now hiring year-round, part-time instructors with leadership opportunities available within your first 3-6 months. Requirements

• Ability to work with children
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to complete lifeguard, CPR & AED certification class as part of training and work scheduled shifts as a lifeguard
• Ability to perform job functions in a warm, humid setting and chlorinated pool (lifting, standing for extended periods of time, demonstrating curriculum skills and performing in-water rescues if necessary). Noise level is usually moderate

Summary

You will instruct students on water safety and proper swim techniques based on thorough knowledge of the Goldfish Swim School curriculum. After each 30 minute lesson, you communicate progress (and celebrate the accomplishments!) with parents and caregivers.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide swim instruction based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum
• Educate students on safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents
• Evaluate students’ progress, and complete required paperwork in a timely manner

Interact with parents/guardians on the activities and development of students’ swim skills

Use problem-solving and creative thinking skills to identify and resolve challenges that students encounter

Maintain and ensure proper storage of all pool equipment. Place and remove lane lines and class materials before/after lessons

Perform light cleaning duties such as window washing, deck mopping, trash removal etc. on occasion

Attend occasional mandatory workshops and in-service training outside of regular working hours

Fulfill other duties or responsibilities as assigned by your employer
