The Position

At British Swim School we teach fun swim lessons and help our swimmers reach their goals in a safe, supportive environment. We’re a team of fun‑loving people dedicated to saving lives and having fun while doing it.

As a swim instructor, you will receive training to teach swim lessons to children and adults, starting at 3‑month‑old, following the British Swim School aquatics program that is gentle, fun, and progressive. You will be assigned to a class schedule developed by managers and interact with swimmers, parents, and/or guardians.

Your Typical Responsibilities

• Report directly to and support the Aquatics Manager and/or Business Owner(s).
• Instruct swimming lessons in accordance with British Swim School training and program standards, maintaining certifications throughout employment.
• Work a flexible schedule that may include evenings (3 pm–7 pm), weekends (8 am–1 pm), and holidays as required by business needs.
• Work in an environment where noise levels are moderate to high and be in the water for the duration of the shift.

Minimum Qualifications

• Enthusiastic personality.
• Comfortable in and around water. Strong swimming skills are a plus but can be taught and developed.
• Must complete all required British Swim School Aquatics‑specific training and testing.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with children.
• Swimming experience: 1–2 years preferred but not required.
• Customer service skills: 1 year preferred.
• Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED certification(s) preferred (but can be obtained during training).
