Job summary

British Swim School in Katy, TX is seeking a friendly swim instructor to teach lessons to kids, teens, and adults, following our curriculum and ensuring safety.

You will work a schedule set by the manager, including evenings and weekends as needed, and you will interact with swimmers and parents to support learning.

We offer paid training, opportunities for advancement, and a performance-based pay structure.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to instruct swimming lessons within a structured program.
• Willing to undergo a background check.

Responsibilities

• Reports directly to and supports the Aquatics Manager and/or Business Owner(s).
• Instructs swimming lessons per British Swim School standards and maintains certifications.
• Work a flexible schedule that may include evenings (3pm-8pm), weekends (8am-1pm), and holidays.
• Work in an environment with moderate to high noise and stay in the water during shifts.
• Follow British Swim Schools curriculum to ensure safe and competent lessons.
• Establish and maintain relationships with students’ parents and/or guardians.
• Teach British Swim School lessons with encouragement and positive reinforcement.
• Teach and train new instructors on the aquatics program.
• Maintain certifications throughout employment.

The Position

Being a swim instructor, you will teach swim lessons to kids, teenagers, children and adults.

You will be assigned to a class schedule developed by manager(s) and interact with swimmers, and parents and/or guardians.

Your Typical Responsibilities

• Reports directly to and supports the Aquatics Manager and/or Business Owner(s).
• Instructs swimming lessons in accordance with British Swim School training and program standards, maintaining certifications throughout employment.
• Work a flexible schedule that may include evenings (3pm-8pm), weekends (8am- 1pm), and holidays as required by business needs.
• Work in an environment where noise levels are usually moderate to high and be in the water for the duration of the shift.

ALL PAY RATES ARE Depending on Experience!

Your Typical Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Comfortable in and around the water. Previous swimming experience.
• High end Retail, Hotel, Airline, or any Service industry background is strongly preferred
• Experience working with children, nice to have
