Goldfish Swim School is seeking a patient, energetic Swim Instructor to bring our curriculum to life in the water. You’ll teach kids foundational water safety and swim skills, while building strong connections with families.

We value reliability, clear communication with parents, and a safety-first mindset. Evening and weekend availability is required, and candidates should be eager to obtain Lifeguard certification.

Qualifications

• Reliable, upbeat, and ready to show energy every shift.
• Eagerness to obtain a Lifeguard certification.
• Experience as a certified lifeguard, youth sports coach, camp counselor, or childcare provider.
• Comfortable and confident in the water; swimming experience preferred.
• Natural communicator who connects easily with kids and puts parents at ease.
• Detail-oriented with ability to track multiple students' progress.
• Must be available for evening and weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Deliver swim instruction based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum with energy and focus on student growth.
• Enforce safety rules on the pool deck daily to maintain a secure environment.

• Maintain and store pool equipment properly.
• Assist with light cleaning duties as needed.

Job Title: Swim Instructor

Reports to: Deck Supervisor

FLSA Status: Part time, Non-Exempt

Summary: We’re looking for a patient, energetic, and student-centered Swim Instructor to bring our curriculum to life in the water. This role is where the magic happens - you’ll teach kids foundational water safety and swim skills, build genuine connections with students and their families, and take real ownership of each child’s progress. If you love working with kids, communicate naturally with parents, and find energy in watching someone conquer something hard, this role is built for you.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Deliver swim instruction based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum with consistency, energy, and a focus on student growth.
• Enforce safety rules and regulations on the pool deck daily to prevent accidents and maintain a secure environment.
• Accurately evaluate student progress and complete skill evaluations on time.
• Connect with parents and guardians after lessons to share student updates, celebrate wins, and address concerns with care.
• Use creative problem-solving to help students work through challenges and keep progressing.
• Maintain and properly store all pool equipment, including placing and removing lane lines.
• Assist with light cleaning duties such as deck mopping, window washing, and trash removal as needed.

• While performing this job, the employee is regularly exposed to heat, humidity, and chlorine. Noise level is usually moderate.
