Job summary

Life Time Inc. in Fridley, MN is seeking an Aquatics Swim Instructor to help adults and children improve swimming skills. You will teach life skills to our youngest members, evaluate progress, and maintain a clean, safe pool environment.

You will respond to member questions, promote Aquatics programs, and support events while working in a fast-paced club setting with a focus on safety and exceptional guest service. Meeting rigorous safety standards and collaborating with staff are essential.

Qualifications

• Working toward a High School Diploma or GED.
• Able to swim 25 yards/meters without stopping.
• Able to lift 20 lbs repeatedly and bend as needed.
• Current lifeguard/CPR/First Aid certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Instruct swimming lessons and Aquatics events.

Job description

Position Summary

As an Aquatics Swim Instructor, you will work in a fast-paced environment. You will help both adults and children improve their swimming. You will teach life skills to our youngest members and evaluate their swimming ability to establish the correct swim level. You will help to maintain the cleanliness and order of our Aquatics Facilities.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

• Instructs swimming lessons and Aquatics events
• Responds to member questions, comments, and concerns
• Provides a safe, clean and organized pool area
• Promotes and sells all Aquatics programs and services

Minimum Required Qualifications

Education

• Working towards a High School Diploma or GED

Years of Experience

• Successfully complete and pass all Life Time courses upon hire
• Ability to work in a stationery position and move about the club for prolonged periods of time
• Ability to communicate and exchange information with guests who have inquiries about Life Time products and services
• Ability to swim 25 yards/meters without stopping
• Ability to routinely and repetitively bend to lift 20 lbs or less and occasionally bend to lift more than 20lbs

Licenses / Certifications / Registrations

• StarGuard Elite Lifeguard, BLS CPR, and First Aid Certified (or bridge to StarGuard when current certification expires or within 1st year, whichever is first). For Canada, Lifesaving Society Lifeguard certification and Standard FA with CPR C.

Preferred Qualifications

• Swim lesson instruction or coaching experience

Pay

This is an hourly position with wages starting at $14.25 and pays up to $17.00, based on experience and qualifications.
