Job summary

Goldfish Swim School – Fox Chapel is seeking part-time instructors to teach water safety and swimming using our curriculum. The role offers a set weekly schedule, paid training, and opportunities for advancement in a supportive team environment.

Ideal candidates are student-friendly, communicate well, and enjoy working with children in a fun, high-energy pool setting with a focus on safety and progress tracking.

Qualifications

• Ability to work with children.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Willingness to complete lifeguard, CPR & AED certification during training.

Responsibilities

• Provide swim instruction based on Goldfish Swim School curriculum.
• Educate students on safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents.
• Evaluate students’ progress and complete required paperwork in a timely manner.
• Interact with parents/guardians on students’ progress and development of swim skills.
• Use problem-solving to identify and resolve challenges students encounter.
• Maintain and store pool equipment; place/remove lane lines and materials.
• Perform light cleaning duties as needed (window washing, deck mopping, trash removal).
• Attend occasional workshops and trainings outside regular hours.
• Fulfill other duties as assigned by employer.

We’re now hiring year-round, part-time instructors with leadership opportunities available within your first 3-6 months. Requirements

• Ability to work with children
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to complete lifeguard, CPR & AED certification class as part of training and work scheduled shifts as a lifeguard
• Ability to perform job functions in a warm, humid setting and chlorinated pool (lifting, standing for extended periods of time, demonstrating curriculum skills and performing in-water rescues if necessary). Noise level is usually moderate

Summary You will instruct students on water safety and proper swim techniques based on thorough knowledge of the Goldfish Swim School curriculum. After each 30 minute lesson, you communicate progress (and celebrate the accomplishments!) with parents and caregivers.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Provide swim instruction based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum
2. Educate students on safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents
3. Evaluate students’ progress, and complete required paperwork in a timely manner
4. Interact with parents/guardians on the activities and development of students’ swim skills
5. Use problem-solving and creative thinking skills to identify and resolve challenges that students encounter
6. Maintain and ensure proper storage of all pool equipment. Place and remove lane lines and class materials before/after lessons
7. Perform light cleaning duties such as window washing, deck mopping, trash removal etc. on occasion
8. Attend occasional mandatory workshops and in-service training outside of regular working hours
9. Fulfill other duties or responsibilities as assigned by your employer
