Job summary

Chicago Athletic Clubs is seeking a dedicated Swim Instructor to join its Aquatics team in Chicago. You will teach swimming lessons to both adults and children across five pools, prioritizing safety and skill development.

Requirements include a High School Diploma, WSI and Lifeguard certifications, and proven experience. Availability after school hours and weekends is preferred, with strong communication and teamwork essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• WSI certification or competitive swimming background.
• Current Lifeguard certification.
• Proven experience as Swim Instructor.
• Sound knowledge of proper swimming techniques and water safety rules.
• Excellent conflict resolution skills.
• Be available after school hours during the week and Saturday/Sunday morning.

Responsibilities

• Instruct swim lesson participants.
• Maintain the safety of participants in and around the class.
• Planning swimming lessons that take into account student`s abilities and progressive development
• Evaluate student`s performance during swim lessons, provide feedback
• Complete attendance, progress and accident reports
• Communicate effectively with the managers, coworkers and act as a team in an emergency

Job Description

We strive to be known as the best swim program in Chicago. The Aquatics team offers members and nonmembers quality instruction of competitive and recreational swimming. Our experienced instructors and coaches are excited about strengthening swim skills, to adults and children through group and private lessons at any of our 5 pools.

Job responsibilities

• Responsible for instructing swim lesson participants
• Maintain the safety of participants in and around the class
