Qualifications

• Reliable, upbeat and ready to show up with energy each shift.
• Desire to obtain Lifeguard certification and grow in role.
• Experience as a certified lifeguard, youth coach, camp counselor, or childcare provider.
• Comfortable and confident in the water; swimming experience preferred.
• Natural communicator with kids and reassuring to parents.
• Detail-oriented with ability to track multiple students' progress.
• Availability for evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Deliver swim instruction based on the Goldfish curriculum with energy and growth focus.
• Enforce safety rules on the pool deck daily to keep the area secure.
• Evaluate student progress and complete skill evaluations on time.
• Communicate updates to parents after lessons and celebrate wins.
• Help students overcome challenges with creative problem-solving.
• Maintain and store pool equipment; assist with deck duties as needed.
• Assist with light cleaning such as mopping, window washing and trash removal.

Summary

We're looking for a patient, energetic, and student-centered Swim Instructor to bring our curriculum to life in the water. This role is where the magic happens - you'll teach kids foundational water safety and swim skills, build genuine connections with students and their families, and take real ownership of each child's progress. If you love working with kids, communicate naturally with parents, and find energy in watching someone conquer something hard, this role is built for you.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Deliver swim instruction based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum with consistency, energy, and a focus on student growth.
• Enforce safety rules and regulations on the pool deck daily to prevent accidents and maintain a secure environment.
• Accurately evaluate student progress and complete skill evaluations on time.
• Connect with parents and guardians after lessons to share student updates, celebrate wins, and address concerns with care.
• Use creative problem-solving to help students work through challenges and keep progressing.
• Maintain and properly store all pool equipment, including placing and removing lane lines.
• Assist with light cleaning duties such as deck mopping, window washing, and trash removal as needed.

• Must be available for evening and weekend shifts.
• While performing this job, the employee is regularly exposed to heat, humidity, and chlorine. Noise level is usually moderate.
