Hy-Vee is hiring a Sweet Shop Clerk for the Bakery department. You will greet customers, take orders, and help keep the Sweet Shop stocked with fresh products while delivering friendly, attentive service.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers with a smile.
• Take customer orders at the bakery counter and answer questions about products.
• Review daily orders, anticipate product needs, and prepare, finish, and replenish product as necessary.
• Pull product from the cooler or freezer to prepare for baking and ensure an adequate food supply is ready and on hand.
• Review the status and appearance of food for freshness and maintain a clean, sanitary work area at all times.
• Check in product, put product away, and review invoices as needed.
• Run the department register, receive payment, and make change where applicable.
• Remove trash in a timely manner and wash dishes as necessary.
• Price and order product and deliver orders as needed.
• Work with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
• Assist in other areas of the store as needed and take on special projects as assigned.
• Maintain strict adherence to personal hygiene, dress standards, and all Hy-Vee policies and store guidelines.

You will have exposure to flour dust, noise, temperature extremes, and cleaning chemicals or solvents, with occasional potential for electrical hazards.
