Job summary

Archer, based in Silicon Valley, seeks an SVP of Finance to partner with the CFO and executive team. This high-impact role leads the full finance function, including planning, strategic analysis, commercial finance, and business unit finance for Archer.

You will own the annual operating plan, long-range model, and quarterly forecasts; drive variance analysis; build integrated financial models; and produce Board and investor materials.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of progressive finance experience with leadership responsibility.
• Experience in high-growth tech/aerospace or mobility companies preferred.
• Strong modeling and stress-testing capabilities.
• Excellent business partnering with engineering, operations, and executives.
• Experience presenting to Boards of Directors.

Responsibilities

• Own Archer’s annual operating plan, long-range model, and quarterly forecasting end-to-end.
• Drive budget discipline and reporting through variance analysis and management reporting.
• Develop and maintain integrated P&L, cash flow, and balance sheet projections.
• Lead monthly and quarterly reporting for leadership, the Board, and Audit Committee.
• Produce high-quality Board and investor materials communicating performance and outlook.
• Lead financial analysis for strategic initiatives including M&A, joint ventures, and new markets.
• Partner with CFO on capital allocation, financing strategy, and corporate finance.

Archer is seeking an SVP of Finance to serve as a senior business partner to the CFO and executive leadership team. This is a high-impact role that will own the full breadth of financial planning, strategic analysis, commercial finance, and business unit finance for Archer. The right candidate is an analytically rigorous, commercially minded finance leader who thrives in fast-moving, high-growth environments and can translate complex financial dynamics into clear, actionable insight for the business.

• Own Archer’s annual operating plan, long-range financial model, and quarterly forecasting process end-to-end
• Drive budget discipline and accountability across all functions through rigorous variance analysis and management reporting
• Develop and maintain the company’s integrated financial model, including P&L, cash flow, and balance sheet projections
• Lead monthly and quarterly reporting for leadership, the Board, and the Audit Committee
• Produce high-quality Board and investor materials that clearly communicate financial performance and forward outlook

Strategic Finance

• Lead financial analysis and modeling for strategic initiatives, including M&A, joint ventures, and new market entry
• Serve as a key thought partner to the CFO on capital allocation, financing strategy, and corporate financial strategy
• Support investor relations with financial narratives and earnings preparation
• Evaluate and frame trade-offs on major investment decisions across the business
• Monitor competitive and industry financial benchmarks to inform strategic positioning

Commercial & Business Unit Finance

• Serve as the embedded finance partner to Archer’s commercial, operational and product development business units
• Build and maintain unit economics models, contribution margin frameworks, and route-level profitability analyses for Archer’s businesses
• Partner with commercial and operations leadership to develop pricing frameworks, revenue models, and go-to-market financial plans
• Drive accountability for business unit P&Ls and provide financial leadership on key operating decisions
• Support the development of financial reporting infrastructure to enable data-driven decision making at the business unit level

Qualifications:

• 12+ years of progressive finance experience, with significant leadership responsibility in FP&A, strategic finance, or a related function
• Prior experience at a high-growth technology, aerospace, or mobility company strongly preferred; investment banking, private equity, or management consulting background welcome
• Exceptional financial modeling skills and intellectual rigor — you build models from first principles and know how to stress-test assumptions
• Strong business partnering instincts; able to earn trust across engineering, operations, commercial, and executive teams
• Experience presenting to executive team and Boards of Directors
• Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing finance teams in fast-paced environments
• Track record of operating effectively through ambiguity and scaling finance infrastructure in a rapidly evolving organization
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering or related field required; MBA or CPA a plus
