Job summary

Regal Rexnord is seeking a Design Engineer to join the US R&D Sustaining Engineering team in West Chester, PA. You will support existing Micro-Motion product lines, solve technical problems, and process change requests in a fast-paced environment.

You will collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality and Application Engineering to drive design improvements, participate in ECOs, and contribute to VAVE and cost-control initiatives while upholding our core values and customer-focused mindset.

Qualifications

  • Undergrad degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years manufacturing or design experience.
  • Experience with QS and ISO requirements preferred.
  • Experience with electric motors or precision rotating equipment preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to support existing products
  • Facilitate change requests, including Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
  • Work with Manufacturing and Quality teams on design improvement initiatives
  • Support customer RMA analysis to provide sustainable solutions
  • Interact with Application Engineering and customers to ensure design solutions meet expectations
  • Support cost-control initiatives (VAVE)

Job description

Work Model: This is a fully onsite role, with work performed at your designated Regal Rexnord office.

Summary Opportunity for a Design Engineer to join Micro-Motion's US R&D team. This individual will be a member of the Sustaining Engineering Team and the primary responsibility of this role is to support Micro-Motion’s existing product lines. Micro-Motion products are used in an array of medical devices including surgical tools as well as in aerospace and other industrial applications. The Design Engineer will be responsible for supporting technical problem solving and processing change requests. The R&D team is an essential component of Micro-Motion's growth strategy, requiring creative, effective, and flexible candidates able to succeed in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This position will report into our Sustaining Engineering Manager and is located in West Chester, PA.

What You’ll Do
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to support existing products

Critical Competencies

  • Ability to work in a cross functional, manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated ability to use data & designed experiments to make decisions & solve problems
  • Demonstrated proficiency in time and project management
  • Experience participating in DFMEA/PFMEA events
  • Familiarity with various manufacturing processes (Examples such as: Laser welding, transfer molding, assembly techniques, CNC machining)
  • Familiarity with inspection and measurement tools (CMM, caliper, micrometer, gauges)
  • Familiarity with CAD modeling, tooling design, and 3D printing
  • Preferred exposure to Product Development Life Cycle (PLDC) of a manufactured product from concept to launch
  • Preferred exposure to Engineering Change Management
  • Preferred experience with Solidworks and Oracle ERP software
Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in Mechanical / Industrial Engineering or related field
  • 3+ years manufacturing or design experience
  • A strong understanding of quality systems and other process improvement tools
  • Experience with electric motors or precision rotating equipment preferred
  • Experience with QS and ISO requirements is preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without requiring company sponsorship to obtain or keep U.S. work authorization
