Job summary

Benchmark is seeking a Test Engineer to support production test processes for PCB and PCBA on the Rochester, MN site. You will coordinate test equipment installation, qualifications, and updates, while driving improvements across the test chain.

You will review designs for testability, develop test programs, and work with cross-functional teams to resolve issues. Strong communication, teamwork, and continuous improvement experience are required.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates installation of production test equipment.
  • Performs test equipment qualifications and characterization.

  • Suggests tooling ideas to improve testing.
  • Participates in Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen initiatives.
  • Reviews design drawings/DFX for testability before release.
  • Develops product-specific test programs.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to address corrective actions.
  • Supports maintenance in calibration procedures.
  • Analyzes line return data to drive corrective actions.
  • Follows all company policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Test Engineer provides support for test processes on the production floor and product startups working with Printed Circuit Boards (PCB) and Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBA).

Responsibilities
  • Coordinates the installation of production test equipment
  • Performs test equipment qualifications and characterization
  • Coordinates the installation of hardware and software updates as required
  • Proposes ideas for custom tooling for overall test process and equipment improvement
  • Participates in Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen continuous improvement activities
  • Assists in reviewing engineering design drawings and DFX reports prior to production release for testability
  • Assists in developing product specific test programs
  • Works with cross functional teams to address corrective actions
  • Assists maintenance in developing preventative maintenance and calibration procedures
  • Analyzes line return information to understand and drive corrective action on test process issues
  • Complies and follows all company policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Education
  • 4 year degree in Electrical/Computing Engineering, or related field such as Physics or Computer Science WITH hardware experience.

Compensation

Compensation Range: $81,154.00 to $114,731.00 USD. Many factors are considered in compensation decisions, including but not limited to skills, certifications, licensures, experience, training, incumbent data, and other business needs.
