Job summary

LPA, Inc. is seeking a Structural Design Intern to join a high-performing, multidisciplinary design team in California. You will assist in structural design across office, education, recreation, laboratories, health care, and performing arts projects, gaining hands-on experience under experienced engineers and designers.

The role emphasizes mentorship, education opportunities, and involvement in real projects with design teams, fostering growth in sustainable, high-performance architecture.

Qualifications

Some knowledge of CAD, Revit, SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite is preferred
Enthusiastic commitment to the multidisciplinary design process and team environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Curious and open minded to learn
Committed to building a long-term professional career

Responsibilities

Participate in the integrated design process with other disciplines at LPA
Assist Project Engineers and Project Managers in the comprehensive structural design of a large variety of building types and structural systems
Work on research for next generation design and analysis methods related to projects
