Job summary

Steven Winter Associates, in Washington, DC, seeks a Sustainability Specialist/Green Rater to join the Sustainable Building Services team. You will inspect multifamily and single-family buildings to guide teams toward meeting sustainability goals and supporting ENERGY STAR, Passive House, LEED certifications.

The role requires building science expertise, onsite experience, and the ability to translate complex concepts to diverse teams.

Qualifications

• BS in architectural engineering or related field.
• 1+ year experience in building design/construction or applied building science.
• Familiarity with ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager.
• Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and test buildings to verify sustainability measures.
• Communicate building science principles to project teams.
• Review drawings against sustainability goals and make recommendations.
• Prepare documentation for ENERGY STAR, Passive House, and LEED certifications.
• Conduct research related to sustainability programs.
