Sustainability Reporting Intern — Data & Decarbonization

Job summary

UPS is seeking an energetic and dynamic intern to join our Atlanta-based Sustainability team. You will work on measuring and validating carbon emissions, improving data management, and supporting regulatory compliance.

The role leverages Power BI, Google Cloud Platform, and AI tools to drive data-informed decisions. This is a 40-hour per week, hybrid position based at our Atlanta, GA headquarters and is an independent contributor role designed to provide hands-on experience in sustainability

Qualifications

• Ability to manage multiple, large data sets to develop insights.
• Strong analytical skills, including building models and business cases.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with analytical software such as Power BI.
• Proficiency in SQL and relational database management systems.
• Foundational understanding of sustainability disclosures.

Responsibilities

• Support collection, validation, and reporting of sustainability data per standards (GRI, CSRD, CDP, ISSB).
• Support evaluation of data and system controls across reporting processes.
• Analyze and summarize data to aid upper-level management.
• Assist in developing, testing, and reviewing reports to track decarbonization progress.
• Collaborate with auditors during assurance processes.
• Research analyses to identify opportunities and reduce emissions.
• Help develop roadmaps and cross-functional initiatives to cut emissions.
