Job summary

The Donohoe Companies in Washington DC seeks a Sustainability Manager to join our Facilities Management team. You will oversee sustainability programs for assigned buildings, driving policies, initiatives, and data-driven improvements aligned with enterprise goals.

This full-time role supports a large financial institution, requiring collaboration with site leadership, monthly progress reporting, and leadership of programs across energy, waste, green cleaning, and other sustainability areas.

Qualifications

• BS in Environmental Science or equivalent field preferred.
• 5+ years of experience leading sustainability programs.
• Experience guiding sustainability programs for facilities management & operations.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent written and spoken communication.
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
• Project management experience and planning method expertise.
• Ability to coordinate across internal and external teams.

Responsibilities

• Drive sustainability strategies, policies, programs, and initiatives for assigned buildings.
• Support innovation using best practices for building management tech.
• Partner with site leadership; report monthly progress toward goals.
• Research and implement sustainability areas: data analytics, energy conservation, waste management, green cleaning, landscaping.
• Ensure adherence to laws and industry regulations.
• Assist in developing programs to improve environmental impact without harming business goals.
