Job summary

Kiewit Corporation in Omaha, NE is seeking a Sustainability Intern to support the Sustainability Team at our Corporate Environmental Home Office with regulatory research, data collection and analysis, developing tools and resources, and preparing training.

As you pursue your degree, you’ll gain real-world experience by tracking sustainability trends, assisting with greenhouse gas inventory, and helping communicate practices across the organization; remote work is possible for exceptional

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a degree in Environmental Science or related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Detail oriented, flexible and highly motivated.
  • Strong work ethic and professional demeanor.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work 30-40 hours in the summer and 5-20 hours during the school year.
  • Willingness to travel, as needed.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team player but able to work independently to meet intense deadlines, goals and objectives

Responsibilities

  • Support the Home Office Environmental department with regulatory research
  • Keep abreast of sustainability legislation, news, and regulations and conduct regulatory research development
  • Assist with conference calls and training
  • Assist with electronic solutions and data input to track company sustainability performance
  • Assist with preparation and presentation of environmental training
  • Assist with corporate Greenhouse Gas Inventory and other sustainability metric development around waste, water, and biodiversity
  • Overall department support and duties as assigned

Position Overview

Location

We would like the intern to be in Omaha, NE, however, for an exceptional candidate we would consider remote.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently and accurately
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work 30-40 hours in the summer and 5-20 hours during the school year
