Job summary

ECOS is seeking a detail oriented Sustainability Specialist to advance our plant‑powered detergents sustainability programs. You will manage waste diversion, track metrics, and support TRUE Zero Waste and LEED certifications, collaborating with operations and external partners.

The role emphasizes data management, reporting, and cross‑functional communication to drive continuous improvements in environmental performance across ECOS's facilities in the USA.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Business Analytics, or related fields.
  • 3+ years of experience in sustainability, waste reduction, environmental programs, ESG reporting, or related functions.
  • Experience supporting TRUE Zero Waste and LEED certification programs preferred.
  • TRUE Advisor and/or LEED Green Associate credential preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational skills with strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities

  • Manage sustainability databases and maintain resource use records and metrics.
  • Analyze performance data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop reports, dashboards, and presentations for stakeholders and leadership.
  • Utilize Excel tools to support sustainability reporting and decision-making.
  • Lead data collection and documentation supporting TRUE Zero Waste and LEED certifications.
  • Coordinate audits and maintain compliance records.
  • Administer on-site sustainability and waste stream audits and share results with teams.
  • Identify waste diversion opportunities with local nonprofits and MRFs.
  • Expand supplier take-back programs and coordinate with internal teams and suppliers.
  • Collaborate with operations to calculate waste volumes and costs for reductions.
  • Develop internal communications and training on sustainability programs.
  • Handle additional special projects and duties as assigned.
