Job summary

Rheem is seeking an Enterprise Sustainability Analyst to measure, track, and analyze sustainability metrics across global manufacturing sites, reporting to the Sustainability Engineering Manager and collaborating with product, marketing, engineering, facilities, and operations.

The ideal candidate will support Zero Waste to Landfill, greenhouse gas footprint reductions, and market-specific sustainability elements, with hybrid work and travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (chemical, mechanical, industrial) or life sciences.
  • 3+ years in sustainability, environmental science, or engineering roles.
  • Familiarity with GHG accounting and Life Cycle Assessments.
  • Experience with global manufacturing or diverse operations.
  • Excellent analytical and project management skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Willingness to travel globally for programs.

Job description

Since launching Rheem’s sustainability initiative in January 2019, our program has expanded to include our air and water businesses across the globe. To support our ever-growing sustainability efforts, we are looking for a strategic, forward-thinking professional with excellent analytical and project management skills. She/He will contribute to advancing sustainability activities across the enterprise, with the ultimate goal of meeting our 2025 sustainability goals while improving sustainable product sales and market share. She/He will primarily focus on supporting product and operational sustainability efforts, reporting directly to the Sustainability Engineering Manager, who is responsible for managing these initiatives globally.

The Enterprise Sustainability Analyst will demonstrate strong self-starter characteristics and the ability to collaborate globally across various functions including product, marketing, engineering / R&D, facilities, and operations. The Enterprise Sustainability Analyst will assist with measuring, tracking, and analyzing sustainability metrics for both internal reporting and external marketing purposes. She/He will assist the Sustainability Engineering Manager on global sustainability projects like Zero Waste to Landfill, greenhouse gas/carbon footprint reductions, and customizing product sustainability elements for specific markets/product categories. This role will generally serve as a sustainability contact to fulfill miscellaneous requests from the global product, operations, and R&D teams. The ideal candidate will have exceptional analytical and organizational skills, with keen attention to detail. She/He is results-oriented, skilled at liaising with cross-functional stakeholders, and enjoys managing a variety of projects with strategic guidance.

This position will serve Rheem North America, located in Atlanta, GA, Lewisville, TX, Oxnard, CA, Fort Smith, AR, Montgomery, AL, or Indianapolis, IN. This role follows our hybrid work arrangement, with team members working in the office Monday through Thursday and remotely on Fridays.

  • Collate and analyze product/process sustainability metrics across global locations towards achieving set goals.
  • Conduct periodic waste audits and data analysis at global manufacturing sites to support our Zero Waste to Landfill initiative.
  • Build greenhouse gas inventories for Rheem’s global manufacturing locations.
  • Measure and track progress towards achieving 2025 product/process global sustainability goals.
  • Support efforts to work with Rheem’s global businesses to measure and categorize the environmental impact of their product portfolio and customize related product marketing elements.
  • Help implement Sustainability Strategy Sessions across Rheem’s global businesses.
  • Contribute to competitive research on sustainability initiatives in the HVACR manufacturing sector to inform strategic decisions.
  • Liaise with cross-functional teams to fulfill miscellaneous requests from global product/operations teams.
  • Capture and share sustainability progress to secure commitment and support for integrating sustainable development into core product and operations processes and decision-making.
  • Potential future project support: Conduct system-level Life Cycle Assessments, generating actionable product insights and gathering info from EPD requests.

  • Bachelor’s degree with a strong preference in engineering (chemical, mechanical, industrial) or life sciences (biology, chemistry, environmental sciences, etc.).
  • 3+ years of experience in wide-ranging operational sustainability, environmental science, and/or engineering roles.
  • Familiarity with GHG Accounting, Life Cycle Assessments, and Environmental Management standards.
  • Experience with global manufacturing companies and/or companies with geographically and functionally diverse operations.
  • Excellent analytical and project management skills.
  • Strong critical thinking skills, using logic and reasoning to identify solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Organized and motivated; superior attention to detail and ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to build cross-functional relationships and thrive in a collaborative and team-oriented environment to accomplish objectives.

Equivalent combination of education, experience, and skills may supplement above minimum job requirements.

The pay scale for this position $71,172 - $113,940. Please note all pay ranges are broadly stated and any final offer is dependent on factors such as location, direct experience, market guidance and internal equity, among other qualifying criteria.
