Job summary

CF Industries Holdings is seeking an Analyst, EHS and Sustainability to manage the company’s tracking and reporting of sustainability and greenhouse gas projects. The role focuses on collecting, managing, and analyzing enterprise data supporting sustainability goals across air emissions, water, safety, and clean energy initiatives.

The incumbent will work to ensure accuracy, meet scope, schedule, and cost objectives, and provide timely reporting to Senior Leadership and the Board of Directors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Experience in project engineering and execution.
  • 1–3 years in a chemical manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of statistical tools and analysis.
  • Knowledge of data collection and assessment methodologies.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the collection and validation processes of the annual Company GHG inventory and update the methodology as needed.
  • Track Scope 1, 2, and 3 GHG emissions against reduction objectives and strategies.
  • Complete and validate Life Cycle Assessments for relevant products and maintain enterprise footprints for carbon and water.
  • Maintain waste footprints and other environmental inventories and support ESG reporting activities.
  • Support data collection and production for CF’s annual sustainability report.
  • Assist teams in assessing sustainability and GHG impacts of potential projects and investments.
  • Provide support for annual climate and nature‑related disclosures and assurance requirements.
  • Provide dashboards to streamline data collection and develop visualizations to enhance performance understanding.
  • Develop data tracking tools for sustainability data management and reporting.

Job Summary

Analyst, EHS and Sustainability – Full Time – Northbrook, Illinois. The Analyst, EHS and Sustainability will manage the Company’s tracking and reporting of sustainability and greenhouse gas (GHG) projects in support of strategic initiatives. Specifically, projects will focus on the collection, management and analysis of enterprise data that support Company sustainability goals, including air emissions, water, safety, process safety, product stewardship and clean energy initiatives. The role ensures assignments meet scope, schedule, cost and analysis objectives, and provides timely and accurate reporting to external stakeholders, Senior Leadership and the Board of Directors.

Major Responsibilities
  • Maintain the collection and validation processes of the annual Company GHG inventory and update the methodology as needed.
  • Track Scope 1, 2, and 3 GHG emissions against the Company’s reduction objectives and ongoing GHG emissions reduction strategies.
  • Complete and validate Life Cycle Assessments for relevant products and maintain enterprise footprints for carbon and water, including annual updates.
  • Maintain waste footprints and other environmental inventories, including those related to the EU CBAM (Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism), and support locations’ environmental and ESG reporting activities.
  • Support data collection and production for CF’s annual sustainability report.
  • Assist manufacturing and distribution teams in assessing the sustainability and GHG impacts of potential projects and investments, including calculating potential avoided emissions from assets and products.
  • Provide support to meet expectations for annual assurance and SEC regulations regarding climate and nature‑related disclosures.
  • Provide dashboards to streamline data collection and develop visualizations to enhance performance understanding.
  • Support the development and implementation of data tracking tools, including sustainability data management and reporting tools.
  • Perform rigorous quantitative and qualitative analysis of environmental data such as GHG, air emissions, and water.
  • Research global sustainability and GHG reporting trends, sustainability ratings and rankings, reporting frameworks, standards and disclosure legislation, and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Monitor increasing expectations and trends for material data disclosure, tracking, reporting and transparency from stakeholders such as rating agencies.
  • Actively participate and collaborate as a member of the EHS team, contributing to overall EHS performance improvements.
Incumbent Attributes
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or an equivalent science field.
  • Experience in project engineering and execution.
  • 1‑3 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of statistical tools and analysis.
  • Knowledge of various data collection and assessment methodologies.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, including prioritizing multiple tasks with competing demands.
  • Ability to perform analytical tasks on large data sets and identify trends.
  • Strong skills in MSExcel, Access, and Word to combine and analyze data from various sources, and generate reports and graphics.
  • Effective verbal and written communication of complex information.
  • Ability to analyze and summarize data from multiple sources and prepare benchmark reports.
  • Experience researching and supporting implementation of state‑of‑the‑art sustainable practices.
  • Decision‑making capabilities through collaboration.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
