Job Description:

The Sushi Line Cook is a skilled culinary professional responsible for preparing sushi dishes. Working closely with the Chef and kitchen staff, they contribute to creating delicious sushi such as rolls, nigiris, and more. Additionally, Sushi Cooks assist with various back-of-house tasks, including cleaning, to ensure a sanitary and efficient kitchen environment. Please note that Sushi Cooks do not earn tips but are highly valued for their culinary contributions.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist in preparing sushi ingredients, including fish chopping, cooking sushi rice, and assembling sushi rolls, nigiris, and hand rolls with precision and creativity.
2. Work closely with the Chef to ensure all sushi dishes meet high standards of taste, presentation, and food safety.
3. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the sushi bar area, including equipment and utensils.
4. Assist with receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring proper stock rotation and ingredient storage.
5. Help with general kitchen duties such as dishwashing, cleaning, and sanitizing surfaces.
6. Support kitchen staff during peak periods by aiding in food preparation tasks as needed.
7. Follow instructions from the Chef and Managers to ensure efficient workflow and timely service.
8. Adhere to all safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
9. Maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment.
