JOEY Restaurants in Miami is seeking a skilled Sushi Chef to join our fast-paced kitchen. You will prepare all sushi menu items with precision, maintain high standards of quality, and collaborate with a lively team in a creative, hospitality-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Prep all ingredients and follow prep lists and recipes
• Cook menu items using various methods per JOEY standards
• Maintain clean, sanitary, and safe work areas
• Clean and organize refrigerators, ovens, and storage areas
• Complete side work and closing duties; stock and organize stations
• Follow safety guidelines for equipment and cleaning agents; report issues promptly
• Adhere to food safety and handling procedures

In this role, you will produce all sushi menu items while rolling under the pressure of a demanding and fast-paced environment.

Duties

• Prep all ingredients and food products to fulfill prep lists, par levels, and recipe standards.
• Utilize various prep and cooking methods to ensure the quick, precise creation of our menu itemsin accordance withJOEY recipes. Wash, chop, cut, grill, roast, sauté, fry, etc. Coordinate with other stations as needed.
• Maintainprep and cooking areas ina clean,sanitary,and safe manner.
• Clean, organize, andmaintainrefrigerators, cooler drawers, ovens,prepand dry storage areas, etc.
• Complete assigned side work and closing duties to set your team up for success. Stock, clean, and organize line stations.
• Follow all instructions and guidelines for safe usage of kitchen equipment and cleaning compounds. Report equipment problems and maintenance issues to leadershipimmediately.
• Follow all food service and handling safety precautions and procedures.

Basic Qualifications

• 1-3+ years of culinary experience(If you have high potential but less experience, we still want to meet you!).
• Must have or be able to obtain valid local and/or state Food Handler permits.
• Possess a passion for hospitality and a proventrack recordof creating world-class hospitality experiences.
• Thrive in adynamic,fast-paced work environment.
• Be able to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time; frequent bending, reaching, and stretching; repetitive manual tasks; and lift and carry up to 50lbs.
