Job summary

Gladding McBean in Lincoln, CA seeks a field survey and drafting professional to support the Architectural Terra Cotta Division. Qualifications

• Degree in Architecture, Historic Preservation, Construction, or related field is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 3–5 years in façade survey/restoration or related field.
• AutoCAD proficiency (3+ years preferred).
• Proficient in applied mathematics.
• Experience with photogrammetry and/or 3D laser scanning is required.
• Autodesk Inventor experience is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Reliability and regular attendance are required.

Responsibilities

• Support architectural terra cotta division with field survey, digital documentation, and drafting of replacement units.
• Interpret contract documents and capture existing conditions accurately.
• Translate field and survey data into clear drafting deliverables and unit schedules.

WHAT THIS ROLE LOOKS LIKE:

Under the supervision of the East Coast Territory Manager, this position supports the Architectural Terra Cotta Division in all areas of field survey, digital documentation, and drafting of replacement terra cotta units on historic and restoration projects. The position requires the ability to interpret contract documents, accurately capture existing conditions, and translate field and digital survey data into clear drafting deliverables and unit schedules. ; and is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success. Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Degree preferred in Architecture, Historic Preservation, Construction, or related field
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum 3- 5 years experience in façade survey, restoration, construction materials, or related field
• AutoCAD proficiency (3+ years preferred)
• Proficient in Applied Mathematics
• Experience with photogrammetry and/or 3D laser scanning required
• Autodesk Inventor experience a plus
• Valid drivers license required
• Bilingual (Spanish) not required but a plus
• Predictable and Regular attendance is required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; Reach with hands and arms; Talk and listen; Stand, walk, and sit.
• Frequently drive a personal vehicle to go to job sites or construction sites.
• Occasionally required to bend at the waist; Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Up to 25% travel time required.
• Ability to climb scaffolding and work from swing stage or lift equipment in compliance with safety requirements
• Ability to access and observe façade conditions and removed terra cotta fragments on active construction sites

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Outdoor weather conditions during field surveys
• Airborne clay and dust particles associated with terra cotta manufacturing and mining processes
• Moderate industrial noise levels during plant visits and site access
• Office environment with moderate noise.
• Plant environment with loud noise, moving machinery, dusty, dirty.
