JBPro seeks a Surveying Intern to gain hands-on experience in both office and field settings, working with seasoned surveyors and project teams in North Florida.

The role targets students in geomatics, surveying, or related fields who want to apply classroom learning to real-world projects, from data collection to deliverables. Training includes field data, drawings, and project support.

• Currently enrolled in a college or university program in Geomatics, Surveying and Mapping, Geospatial Science, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Interest in pursuing a career in land surveying or a related profession.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or surveying equipment is a plus, but not required.

Position Overview:

As a Surveying Intern at JBPro, you will gain hands‑on experience in both the office and the field, working alongside experienced surveyors and project teams. This opportunity is designed for students pursuing a degree in geomatics, surveying, or a related field who want to apply what they're learning in the classroom to real‑world projects. You'll be exposed to different aspects of the surveying process, from collecting field data to preparing survey drawings and supporting project deliverables.

What You’ll Do

• Assist field crews with boundary, topographic, construction layout, and other land surveying activities.
• Learn to operate surveying equipment, including GPS/GNSS receivers, robotic total stations, and data collectors.
• Support field data collection, measurements, documentation, and survey calculations.
• Assist with preparing and updating survey drawings, maps, and related documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D and other surveying software.
• Help organize, review, and process field data for use in survey deliverables.
• Assist with researching property records, plats, legal descriptions, and other survey-related information.
• Follow established safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment in the office and field.
• Take on additional responsibilities and learning opportunities as skills and experience develop.

• Currently enrolled in a college or university program in Geomatics, Surveying and Mapping, Geospatial Science, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

• Valid driver's license preferred.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

This position includes both office-based responsibilities and physically demanding outdoor fieldwork. Candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Work outdoors in Florida weather conditions, including heat, humidity, rain, and direct sunlight.
• Walk and stand for extended periods, including on uneven, rough, or undeveloped terrain.
• Regularly bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and navigate obstacles encountered on job sites.
• Lift and carry surveying equipment, tools, and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Travel to local project sites as needed.
