Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) seeks a motivated ALB Survey Technician to support the Asian Longhorned Beetle program. You’ll learn agriculture from top experts and participate in surveys, data entry, and reporting while traveling to survey locations.
No prior ag background is required; training is provided. The role involves fieldwork, using binoculars and GIS, and coordinating with Plant Health Inspectors to protect Ohio’s crops and trees.

The Ohio Department of Agriculture's Division of Plant Health houses the Grain Warehouse, Feed & Seed, Pesticide & Fertilizer Regulation, and Plant Pest Control sections, which are responsible for many consumer- and farmer-protections regulations. The duties of an ALB Survey Technician include:
This position shall be filled in accordance with the provisions of the OCSEA Collective Bargaining Agreement. ODA bargaining unit members have selection rights before non-bargaining unit members. All other applications will only be considered if an internal bargaining unit applicant is not selected for this position.
