Surveying And Mapping, LLC is seeking a Survey Technician/Instrument Operator in Newmarket, NH. You will support field crews, operate survey instruments, and collect geospatial data for boundary, topographic, and construction layout projects.

Qualifications

  • Must have a High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet MVR standards.
  • Three years industry experience.
  • Knowledge of land surveying practices and basic survey types, along with mathematical computations and field operations.
  • Trimble field equipment experience preferred.
  • Able to work outdoors year-round and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Use a variety of land survey instruments to support a field crew for boundary, topographic, and construction layout surveys.
  • Assist in completing field surveys under supervision and communicate progress.
  • Operate survey equipment including robotic total stations and GNSS receivers.
  • Use software to collect geospatial data and perform computations.
  • Read and interpret maps and plans; maintain neat field notes.
  • Load/unload equipment and supplies; clean and maintain gear and vehicle.
  • Follow company safety procedures and policies.

Responsibilities
  • Use a variety of land survey instruments to support a field crew in their daily operations to gather data for various surveys including boundary, topographic, and construction layout
  • Assist in completion of field surveys under the supervision of a Crew Chief; communicate progress and address problems
  • Operate land survey equipment including robotic total stations, GNSS receivers, data radios/modems, terrestrial 3D laser scanners, automatic and digital levels
  • Utilize survey controllers and software to collect geospatial data and perform survey computations
  • Read and interpret various types of maps and plans
  • Complete neat and orderly field notes with accurate measurements for land survey operations with supervision from Crew Chief
  • Load and unload trucks with land survey equipment and supplies
  • Clean and maintain land survey equipment, tools, and vehicle
  • Follow company safety procedures, policies, and practices
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid, current driver’s license and ability to meet company MVR standards required
  • Three years industry experience
  • Minimum knowledge of land surveying practices and performance of basic types of surveys, mathematical computations, and field operations
  • Experience with Trimble field equipment preferred, but not required
  • Able to work outdoors year-round in all types of weather conditions and environments
  • Available to travel/stay out of town for work as needed
