  • Maintain strong safety practices in all field operations.

Description
What You’ll Do

Under direct supervision, you will:

Assist with collecting and analyzing data from deeds, titles, utility records, structural plans, and related documents.

Operate survey instruments (such as Leica Robotic Total Stations and GPS equipment) to support boundary, topographic, as-built, subdivision, profile, and existing condition surveys.

Support construction compliance verification and field staking activities.

Assist with mapping, drafting, and preparation of survey documentation.

Generate accurate field notes, photographs, sketches, calculations, and digital files using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, GeoPak, or similar software.

Help verify conformance with applicable regulations, codes, boundaries, and construction specifications.

Maintain strong safety practices in all field operations.

Participate in ongoing training and skill development.

Uphold professional conduct and KLJ’s standards of quality and ethics.

What You Bring

Education

High School Diploma required.

Technical coursework in surveying, geomatics, or civil technology preferred.

Technical Awareness

Basic understanding of land survey principles and practices.

This is primarily a field-based position:

40+ hours per week

Approximately 80% field / 20% office

Occasional travel depending on project needs

Field work includes working outdoors in varying weather conditions and terrain.

Employees must be able to:

Walk on uneven terrain up to ten miles per day

Frequently lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds

Stand, kneel, crouch, and perform physical tasks required for field surveying
