Huitt-Zollars, Inc. seeks a Survey Technician in Phoenix, AZ to handle office-based technical surveying tasks, including calculations, CAD drafting, and ALTA/NSPS surveys. The role supports field operations and data processing with AutoCAD and Trimble software.

Office-based, full-time position with growth opportunities. The candidate should have at least 1 year of land surveying experience, PLSS knowledge, and be willing to pursue LSIT.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of land surveying experience.
• PLSS knowledge and familiarity with the BLM Survey Manual.
• Willingness to study for the LSIT test.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform office-based technical surveying tasks such as calculations, CAD drafting, contour surface creation, and ALTA/NSPS surveys.
• Prepare survey drawings using AutoCAD; use Trimble Business Center.
• Review field survey data for office processing.
• Process office data and support field operations, including data transfer to data collectors.
• Search public records for property boundaries and survey areas.
• Meet schedules and productivity objectives set by supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Huitt-Zollars, Inc. has an immediate full-time office Survey Technician opportunity in our Phoenix, Arizona office. The successful candidate will have office technical experience in all phases of land surveying, construction, and topographic surveying. HZ is a leading Architectural, Engineering and Surveying firm providing innovative planning, engineering, architectural design, land surveying, construction and program management, and design-build project delivery to our clients in the public and private sector. Duties

• Independently perform office-based technical surveying assignments such as calculations, CAD based drafting, contour surface creation and processing, as well as processing and delivering ALTA/NSPS surveys.
• Assist in the preparation of survey drawings using AutoCAD software. Knowledge of AutoCAD and Trimble Business Center software and applicable platforms.
• Review and process the results of field survey data for office based technical processing.
• Review and process office data for field survey operations to facilitate the success of field operators including downloading and uploading survey data to data collectors and office computers.
• Search public records to obtain information about property boundaries and areas to be surveyed.
• Ensure schedules and productivity objectives set by a supervisor for survey projects are achieved.
• Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of land surveying experience.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Working knowledge of the Public Land Survey System (PLSS) and the BLM Survey Manual.
• Highly motivated with a willingness to study for the LSIT test.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
