Job summary

McCourt Construction, a Boston-based General Highway Contractor with a long history, seeks an experienced Survey Party Chief to join our team and support the Northeast’s heavy civil projects. You will lead survey activities, establish project control, and provide accurate field-to-Finish data for diverse infrastructure work.

The role requires hands-on field surveying, proficiency with total stations and GPS units, AutoCAD drafting, and the ability to read construction drawings.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of survey experience, preferably in heavy civil.
• Proficient in Civil 3D or similar drafting software.
• Experience with total stations/GPS units and data collectors.
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings.
• Full field to finish capabilities.
• Must be organized, detail oriented, self-motivated and a team player.
• Ability to work independently.
• Must be able to lift/carry up to 50lbs.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Utilize total station and GPS equipment.
• Establishing project control and benchmarks.
• Survey Calculations.
• Provide construction layout for projects.
• Collect As-Built data for projects.
• Quantity Takeoffs.
• AutoCAD drafting and plans.
• Processing and correctly filing survey data.
• Communicating with Superintendents/Engineers/Project management.
• Identify plan and field issues and seek resolutions.
