  • Collaborate closely with survey field crews, project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate project execution.
  • Communicate clearly to define project requirements and resolve technical challenges.
  • Provide mentorship and task delegation to junior staff; assist with scheduling, technical support, and quality control oversight.
  • Support tracking of project scopes, schedules, and budgets, and work with project managers to address performance concerns.
Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in all phases of land surveying, including public mapping projects such as records of survey, legal descriptions, and exhibits.
  • Extensive knowledge of boundary establishment methods, boundary analysis, coordinate geometry (COGO), and legal description writing.
  • Proficient in preparing legal descriptions, plats, final maps, parcel maps, records of survey, subdivision maps, ALTA/NSPS surveys, and easement exhibits.
  • Strong understanding of surveying principles and construction support workflows, including cut sheet preparation, staking data, and construction calculations.
  • Familiar with California land use laws, survey standards, and agency requirements, particularly in Riverside, Orange, San Bernardino, and Los Angeles counties.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply professional land surveying standards and jurisdictional codes.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D; working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Trimble Business Center, and StarNet.
  • Familiarity with Autodesk survey databases is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to supervise field crews and collaborate with engineers.
