Job summary

CAGE Engineering in Florida is seeking a Survey Manager to oversee our Sarasota operations, lead a skilled surveying team, and deliver accurate data for civil projects. You’ll coordinate field and office work, manage schedules, and ensure safety and quality across multiple projects.

This role requires a Bachelor's in Surveying or related field, a PLS license or plan to obtain one, and 10+ years of leadership experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering or related field.
• Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license or ability to obtain one within a specified timeframe.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in land surveying with leadership roles.
• Proficiency in surveying software and equipment (AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center).
• Strong knowledge of boundary law and topographic surveys.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead the surveying team, including hiring, training, and performance management.
• Plan, schedule, and oversee field and office survey operations to meet project deadlines.
• Ensure the accuracy and quality of survey data for engineering, construction, and land development projects.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers and clients to understand survey requirements and deliverables.
• Utilize GPS, total stations, and AutoCAD Civil 3D for data collection and analysis.
• Prepare and review survey reports, maps, plats, and other documentation.
• Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal surveying regulations.
• Develop and implement efficient survey processes and workflows.
• Monitor and manage survey budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations.
• Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and technologies to enhance survey capabilities.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Survey Manager to oversee our survey operations in the Sarasota, FL office. We’re expanding into this area and don’t yet have a physical office in Sarasota. In this role, you’ll play a key part in establishing our presence. Our existing office is located in Venice, FL. The Survey Manager will lead a team of survey professionals, ensure the delivery of accurate and timely survey data, and collaborate with engineering teams to support the successful completion of projects, and provide overall advancement for the department. This role is ideal for a leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about precision, technology, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

• Compensation: $120,000-$160,000
• The salary range provided is a general guideline. Final compensation will be based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, and overall alignment with the role and company needs.
