MasTec Civil is seeking a Survey Manager to lead field surveying for highway and bridge projects in South Carolina. You will oversee planning, scheduling, staffing, and on-site coordination to ensure accuracy of survey data and timely project delivery.

In this role, you will manage budgets, review invoices, mentor engineers, and enforce safety standards while collaborating with HR and management to optimize performance and client satisfaction.

Competenze

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Science and Management.
• 5+ years of heavy highway experience; 2+ years of progressive project management experience preferred.
• Professional Engineering registration in civil engineering preferred.

Overview

Join the growing MasTec Civil crew in South Carolina leading the field surveying needs on multiple highway and bridge construction projects in the area.

The Survey Manager will be responsible for the organization, efficiency, and accuracy of work performed and data obtained as it relates to surveying for all aspects of the project.

Responsibilities

• Planning & Scheduling: Collaborate with management to develop and adjust project plans, staffing, equipment, and timelines. Continuously evaluate and improve execution strategies throughout the project.
• Project Coordination: Serve as the primary company representative on-site. Lead progress and internal coordination meetings, ensure timely document submission, and conduct pre-activity meetings to align on scope, resources, safety, and quality requirements.
• Staffing & Leadership: Partner with HR to staff the project, supervise engineering personnel, mentor junior engineers, and enforce company policies across the team.
• Contract & Financial Oversight: Maintain a thorough understanding of contract documents and payment terms. Review and approve invoices, subcontractor payments, and cost reports, identifying variances and potential claims.
• Cost Control: Manage the project budget, monitor cost performance, optimize work methods, and ensure proper documentation and submission of change orders and claims.
• Subcontractor & Vendor Management: Negotiate, coordinate, and oversee subcontractors and vendors, ensuring timely payments and resolution of disputes or changes.
• Documentation: Ensure accurate and timely completion of all project records, including daily reports, logs, photos, and meeting minutes.
• Client Relations: Represent the company professionally in all interactions, maintaining strong relationships and handling negotiations with integrity.
• Safety Compliance: Enforce company and OSHA safety standards, ensuring a safe work environment across all project activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Science and Management
• 5+ years of heavy highway experience; 2+ years of progressive project management experience preferred
• Professional Engineering registration in civil engineering preferred
