We are currently seeking a Surveyor Manager for our Georgia Water Division, with projects in and around the Atlanta, GA area.

The Survey Engineer will supervise construction survey crews responsible for providing horizontal & vertical control, derived from contract plans & documents, to field production operations.

Responsibilities

1. Manage construction, topographic, right-of-way, and control survey projects; participate in pre-survey planning meetings with project managers, resident engineers, and contractor representatives.
2. Gather field survey data using conventional and GPS methods; operate surveying equipment including electronic total stations, data collectors, and GPS devices; prepare field notes and drawings; perform field surveys for infrastructure projects such as roadways and bridges, including installing survey stakes, tying out existing intersections, and establishing control points and property boundaries.
3. Perform complex calculations using engineering software, analyze data for accuracy, and prepare survey reports and maps.
4. Assist in various survey types including construction, design, and control surveys.
5. Manage survey equipment, oversee maintenance and inventory.
6. Create detailed and accurate survey maps and reports promptly.
7. Operate and adjust survey equipment, perform trigonometric calculations for control points and quantities.
8. Train team members on new surveying technologies and innovate survey methods.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in construction, engineering, or related field, or 10 years of survey construction staking experience.
• Experience with Trimble Business Center is a plus.
